Message from the President In
case you have been wondering why you haven’t heard from me recently, I
have been overseas on holiday. This is a short eNews primarily to notify
you of some forthcoming events and to remind readers that voting in
this Saturday’s Federal Election is compulsory.
Meet the Candidates Meeting for the Federal Seat of BENNELONG Epping Civic Trust is holding a Meet the Candidates meeting this coming Tuesday night 14th
May at the "Church of Christ" 31 Bridge Street, Epping, hall at rear.
All welcome. This message is mainly for Beecroft residents living south
of the M2 who are in the seat of Bennelong.
Federal Elections this coming Saturday 18th May Don’t
forget to vote if you haven’t already. The suburb of Beecroft now falls
within two Federal Electorates. North of the M2 is Berowra and South of
the M2 is Bennelong. Polling booth locations can be located using the
Australian Electoral Commission website. CLICK HERE.

Beecroft Men’s Probus Leading
political commentator Tom Switzer, Executive Director of the Centre for
Independent Studies, will be talking on “Australia’s political
landscape post the election” at the next Probus meeting at the Beecroft
Bowling Club on 27th May. Visitors and guests are most

Beecroft Men’s Probus Investment Forum “Travel
Tips for Savvy Seniors” is the topic of the Investment Forum’s next
meeting in which leading travel media commentator Quentin Long will be
speaking on how to find the gems and avoid the pitfalls of travel – new
destinations, new experiences, short getaways, agents vs operators vs
DIY, and the challenge of travel insurance for retirees.

The Trust’s Annual Autumn Walk The Trust will hold its Autumn Walk late in the season this year on Sunday 23rd
June. The walk will visit the newly completed sporting facilities
around Cheltenham Oval before moving onto the recent changes to the
bushland nearby. Further details of the walk will be provided in a
future eNews.
Pest Alert The NSW Department of Primary Industries has issued a flyer urging residents to report any sighting of the Red Eared Slider Turtle. CLICK HERE for the flyer.
